Our consultants have implemented microfluidic devices across the science and engineering industries. We’ve worked with microfluidic architecture to reduce the amount of blood required for a point-of-care device. In addition, AIC consultants have helped an energy company develop a continuous microfluidic flow battery and a fuel cell company improve the efficiency of its cells by reducing components in the microfluidic region.
We have also implemented continuous microreactor technology in the pharmaceutical industry, turning multi-step, multi-phase reaction sequences into one continuous flow processes for rapid scale-up. In another project, AIC Technica scientists achieved a world first by helping a minerals company to continuously precipitate calcium carbonate in a flow microreactor. (The size and distribution of calcium carbonate crystals could not be achieved by traditional methods of manufacturing.)
